SUSTAIN is a national test bed accelerating the NHS adoption of sustainable surgical technologies. Funded by DHSC in alignment with the Design for Life Roadmap. Through the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in Accelerated Surgical Care, we bring together clinicians, engineers, phycologists and industry partners to generate the real-world evidence needed to bring promising surgical innovations from concept to clinical practice. Through a first-of-its-kind simulated surgical operating suite, we evaluate emerging technologies against the practical, environmental, and procurement realities of NHS delivery, helping to bridge the persistent gap between bench and bedside.
